The District 9 Experience

A taproom that runs on regulars.

District 9 Draught Haus is East Dallas' Beer & Brat Town Hall — a relaxed, unpretentious taproom near White Rock Lake where the taps rotate, the pretzels are warm, and everybody from first-timers to weeknight regulars gets the same welcome. No lines, no velvet ropes, no attitude. Just good beer, good food, and good people.

01

THE TAP WALL

28 beers and 8 wines pouring at all times, heavy on local breweries and German-style lagers. The list changes constantly — that's the point.

02

THE KITCHEN

A small, selective German-style menu done right: giant soft pretzels, brats, and sharables — with vegetarian options that aren't an afterthought.

03

THE ROOM

Long tables, easy chairs, and a patio built for lingering. Bring a crew or fly solo at the bar — either way you're family by the second round.

04

THE GROWLER

Everything on tap goes home with you. Grab a growler, get it filled fresh, and take the taproom to your couch or your next cookout.

What's Pouring

The tap list is a living thing.

We chase the best craft beer we can get our hands on — local breweries first, German-style lagers always — and rotate it the second something better shows up. Check the live board below, then come taste it in person.

The Kitchen

Beer hall food, no shortcuts.

The menu is small on purpose. A handful of German-style favorites — done well, made fresh, and built to stand up to whatever's in your glass. Vegetarian options included, because everybody eats at the Town Hall.

The Giant Pretzel
  • GIANT SOFT PRETZELWarm, salty, made for beer cheese. The unofficial mascot of the Haus.
  • BRATSGrilled German-style sausages with all the fixings. The brat is the boss here.
  • GERMAN FAVORITESA rotating cast of sausages, sharables and beer-hall staples.
  • VEGETARIAN OPTIONSReal meatless plates — not a sad salad in a beer hall.

This Is a Neighborhood Spot

Two minutes from the lake. Zero minutes from feeling at home.

District 9 Draught Haus opened because East Dallas deserved a beer hall of its own — a place near White Rock Lake where you can walk in after a lap around the water, after work, or after exactly nothing at all.

We're in the White Rock Center Shopping Center at the intersection of Northcliff and Buckner Blvd. There's no scene to navigate and no dress code to remember. It's the kind of place where the staff remembers your pour, the regulars save you a seat, and the first visit quietly turns into a standing appointment.

That's not a marketing line. That's just Tuesday here.

*****

"My go-to spot in East Dallas. The tap list changes all the time and the staff will actually help you find something you like instead of just pointing at the board."

— Google Review

*****

"Giant pretzel, cold German lager, zero attitude. This is what every neighborhood bar wishes it was. We drive past five other places to get here."

— Yelp Review

*****

"Grabbed a growler before a cookout and it was the hit of the party. Filling it took two minutes and the beer was fresher than anything I could've bought."

— Google Review

*****

"Unassuming strip center, extraordinary beer hall. The vegetarian options are legit, the brats are serious, and the vibe is pure East Dallas."
