The short version
What is La Bodega?
A neighborhood bodega in the oldest sense of the word — the corner spot that has got what you need. Ours just happens to smell like rotisserie chicken and fresh herbs.
Where it started
A 100-year-old shotgun building on West 8th.
The building has been a lot of things over the last century. Under owner Skye McDaniel, it became La Bodega — a cozy corner-store concept built around one idea: good food, ready when you are.
Skye grew up on Mediterranean and Italian food — bright salads, olive oil, bread, herbs, chicken with real flavor. La Bodega is that food, cooked fresh in Oak Cliff and priced so it can be a Tuesday thing, not just a Saturday thing.
We call it fine-fast food. Fine as in quality, fast as in you can be back in your car in four minutes with dinner for four.
The chicken is not a side quest
Organic. Air-chilled. Rotisserie roasted.
Every bird is organic and air-chilled, roasted in-house all day — gluten free, dairy free, no seed oils. It comes off the spit golden, gets carved, and ends up in quarter, half and whole combos, on sandwiches, in salads, and pretty much everything else we make.
First come, first served. When the birds are gone, they’re gone — which is exactly why people set alarms for the 5 pm batch.

Grab + go, done right
Got what you need.
That’s the bodega promise. Lunch at the counter, a salad between meetings, a whole bird under your arm on the way home, dips and sauces for when company shows up unannounced.
Grab-and-go here doesn’t mean packaged and sad. It means the same food we’d feed our own families, packed and ready before you finish parking.
The food, up close
Made here. Every day.

Come taste what the fuss is about.
Grab a bird, grab a sandwich, grab a seat by the window. See you on West 8th.
