Our story

Seventy years of stubborn standards

Natural Grocers began in 1955 with a family, a belief, and a tiny storefront: that real food, raised right, changes lives. We're still family-owned. We're still stubborn about it.

What we believe

Food is the foundation

What we eat shapes how we feel, how we age, and how we live. That conviction is why we screen every product ourselves, why our nutritionists give their time for free, and why we'd rather drop a brand than lower a standard.

We believe healthy food should be affordable, that farmers deserve partners not just buyers, and that a grocery store can be a genuine force for good in its neighborhood.

A store, and a neighbor

Our stores host free classes every month. Our Health Hotline has answered nutrition questions for decades. Our local farm partnerships put regional produce on shelves within hours of harvest.

When you shop here, you're part of something most grocery stores can't claim: a community that eats well and looks out for each other.
